Marketing & Communications
In my previous role at Tees Valley Wildlife Trust, I was asked to produce a lot of their marketing and communications materials. This was varied work and included projects like strategy documents, AGM flyers, events posters, and the members’ magazine ‘Wild Tees’. It was always really interesting work, giving me a broader picture of the Trust, its activities, and the wide-ranging social and environmental success stories it generated.
As this was not my primary focus at the Trust - my full time role being Reserves Manager, working with volunteers on habitat improvements and infrastructure projects, as well as overseeing staff members and contractors - time was always short. I developed an efficient style and process that aimed to produce artwork and layouts at pace.
The Tees Valley Wildlife Trust is one of 47 national Wildlife Trusts, which broadly operate under the umberella of the Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts, but act as independent entities in their own right. With seperate oversight and finances, their is a varied approach to marketing and communications across the partnership. During my time at the Trust, there was no in-house design team and, while some of the content was outsourced to local artists and illustrators, I helped to elevate their output in both internal and exteral communications, as well as creating copy for their magazine and website.
I think it must also be true for many smaller charities and businesses, that funds don’t stretch to in-house designers and copy-writers. If this is the case for you, or you do have a team but would like some fresh ideas, please get in touch; I’d be happy to discuss your requirements and provide a quote.
