Greetings Cards

Like individual works of art, designing for greetings cards is a very freeing experience. I can choose a theme and start brainstorming a whole host of ideas, letting my imagination run wild. As you can tell, nature often plays a part in my design thinking. Greetings cards are most often expressions of a heartfelt emotion, sending our best hopes to another person. There’s something about the innocence of nature that, I feel at least, supports this connection with the people in our lives. These natural ‘characters’ represent truth and sincerity, a version of ourselves without artifice.

I also really enjoy thinking up the story behind the artwork, as well as any written copy that might accompany the image. Like a haiku poem, it needs to say a lot in a short format.

So far, this has just been for fun and to send cards with my own efforts to friends and family, but these and future designs are available by licence, so please get in touch if you are interested.
