Custom Photography
I’ve always been drawn to photography as the most immediate means to record those spectacular moments that might otherwise pass on only in memory. While I love taking photos of big dramatic scenery, I think I get the most intense buzz from capturing those small fleeting moments that often go unnoticed; as though I’m preserving something ephemeral that is there, at that moment, before being gone forever.
Sometimes the conditions are just right, and anyone with a smart phone can get a lovely shot of a scene or an interaction (and I think this is great), but I believe the key to great photography is being able to hone in on those perfect details, even when conditions are less than ideal. To make a really good image when it counts is a matter of timing, intuition, skill, and a good eye. The last of those - the eye - is perhaps the most important, as it will come into play at various stages of making (rather than taking) a great photograph.
A good ‘eye’ will define choices ‘in-camera’ about subject, composition and depth of field, and in the later stages will guide all of the photo editing. In this sense, you’re not just hiring a photographer, you’re hiring an artist who can take a good photo and make it a great photo by scene-setting with adjustments to colour and lighting.
Whatever your mission, custom photography is a must if you want to stand out from the crowd and show not just what you believe, but how committed you are to that belief. I can help you turn up the volume on your images so people really take notice. Get in touch to let me know what you need.
